Reagent column chromatography silica gel and its application

A reagent column chromatography silica gel belongs to colloidal-state system with solid characteristics, which is composed of colloidal particles with condensate structure. The colloidal particle is the polycondensate of hydrated silica gel (multi-silica acid), belongs to a non-crystalline-state substance. The interspace of aggregation of colloidal particle forms the inner micro interspace structure of reagent column chromatography silica gel particle. Therefore, it is a kind of premium quality adsorption material with rich fine porous structure, high specific surface area, high purity and high activity.
The main performance of reagent column chromatography silica gel——adsorption, which depends on the fine porous structure and the surface of inner pore formed in process of the raw material silica gel production. Therefore, much attention to the fine selection of the quality of raw material (wide pore granular silica gel) must be paid first. The specifications in fine selection should be controlled: adsorption capacity 80±2%,specific surface area about 360m2/g,average pore diameter is requested around 9nm(90 Angstrom).Further process shall be made on the basis of raw material selection. its main process are:crushing raw material, classifying particle size, acid treatment, washing with purified water and drying, packing and testing.

The main uses of reagent column chromatography silica gel as follows:
(1) Used for Chinese herb medicine and chemical synthesis pharmaceuticals and the separation & purification of biological active substance;
(2) Used for abstraction of such polypeptide of macromolecule protein as biological active substance in industrial process of biological ferment and also used for acid engineering technology;
(3) Preparation of highly-purified substances through separation & adsorption of column chromatography silica gel;
(4) Refining & dehydration of organic substance;
(5) Removal of harmful ingredients from edible vegetable oil;
(6) Used for refining of petroleum articles, such as extracted oil ( the retained part of naphtha at 600C-900C), removal of the impurity like aromatic hydrocarbon.
