SPECIFICATIONS OF SODIUM METASILICATE ANHYDROUS(TYPICAL)

SPECIFICATION OF SODIUM METASILICATE PENTAHYDRATE

USAGE: sodium metasilicate was mainly used in making high efficiency detergent, metal cleaner, pottery grinding aid, fire retarding agent, water retention agent, degreasing agent, textile agent and paper deinking agent. It is also widely utilized in oil-exploitation, nature gas exploitation, tunnel.

Sodium metasilicate is a compound that exists in two main forms: anhydrous and pentahydrate.

1. Sodium Metasilicate Anhydrous: Sodium metasilicate anhydrous is the anhydrous (without water) form of sodium metasilicate. Its chemical formula is Na2SiO3. It is a white, crystalline powder that is highly soluble in water. It is commonly used as a cleaning agent, detergent, and in various industrial applications such as metal cleaning, metal surface treatment, and in the production of silica-based materials.

2. Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate: Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is the hydrated form of sodium metasilicate. Its chemical formula is Na2SiO3·5H2O. It is a white, granular solid that contains five molecules of water per molecule of sodium metasilicate. Like the anhydrous form, it is also soluble in water. Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is used in similar applications as the anhydrous form, including as a cleaning agent, detergent, and in various industrial processes.

Both forms of sodium metasilicate have similar properties and uses but differ in water content.
